BANGKOK BELGIUM BANTAM
Artist's Cooperation

CONCEPT

3B is a project conceived by Danny Devos and Sutee Kunavichayanont.

3B is a project conceived by Sutee Kunavichayanont and Danny Devos.

3B stands for Bangkok Belgium Bantam Artist's Cooperation. Bantam is the lightest, but nevertheless the fiercest competion in boxing, a favourite Thai sport.

3B has established a main office headquarters at Silpakorn University, but several temporary field offices might also exist, at different remote locations throughout Bangkok, or even extend the city limits.

3B takes no boundaries.

3B conducts an investigation that is based on sociological, religious, cultural and theoretical issues. The work is scheduled on a day-to-day basis, which can include stand-alone events, performances, or the edition of printed material, objects or installations.

3B does not want to take a classical art-only approach. Outcome of the working-process can be left behind at specific locations, even unattended. Performances can happen at scheduled events but also (and this is encouraged) at unexpected times and places.

3B will keep a documentation of events whenever possible. The presentation of these documents will be part of the project itself, and can only be defined along the road we decide to take.

3B will create a 'treasure map' in the form of an interactive computer-application, in which potential visitors can browse for clues regarding our activities.

3B's work during this project can also be seen on this website

11 January 1999.
