Pain. I found an article in the newspaper 'The Nation', of a 32-year-old man who had been deaf and mute for all his life. When a doctor in Hanoi performed an operation on his foot, and made the first incision, the man said 'Oh my gosh, it's so painful', his first words in 32 years. I cut the article and stuck it in the back of an abandoned Land Rover, then I made a cut in my foot and let the blood drip onto the floor. Article and blood remain as witnesses of the performance.
