Discussion

some visitors to this site have been asking various types of questions, as well as flaming us with their criticism. therefore we found it useful to set up this page with some stuff that came out of it for those who enjoy...

about pathophiliac
we are not involved in any police or detective work.
the website is basically one person doing it, the profile has been discussed with a few people from time to time, but we refrain from focusing on individuals at the time being.
we've been into the true crime scene for over 10 years, biographies, psychology, pathology and correspondence with convicted killers. unfortunately we can't get more accurate information about this case, we're not really what you'd call 'professional'.

about vtm/rtbf tv-shows

They had to remind the facts without any particular position and call for citizens and witnesses to come forward. The message was different for the NL and the F part of the country, that's normal. They (the television and the police) did their job.

they could have done their job a lot better by presenting a well-defined schedule of how the case built up, how and why the connection between the victims, the specificity of the area etc.
hunting a serial killer is something completely different than any other murder-case, and if they do their job well, they should by now know what type of person to look for. it is quite unresponsible to keep thinking they will catch the killer by sheer luck! in the days of new developments in science, technology and psychology it is pathetic to dabble around in vague terms and flimsy theories like the 'multiple killer' fantasy.

Have you come forward and contacted them? If not, don't be proud of yourself and give arbitrary calls like your "update" on the shows. Who are you to do it ?

i am nobody, i am driven to do what i do and don't have to give any justification to anybody for it.

They were probably watched by the depeceur and they probably knew it, they probably did this very intentionaly... in my opinion.

of course he might have watched, but does that make any difference to the case, he will always remain the murderer, he's so much in control that it probably wouldn't make any difference to him anyway. a serial killer is not like a thief who can hide the money under a tree! even without disclaiming certain specific details, the case could have been presented much better. they should also know that these kind of games don't really work, or have you forgotten the vivid newsreports concerning the digging on the jumet mine-site?

you are now taking your white horse and critisizing the people trying to do their job!
If you read the news so consciously, you probably have seen that the investigators have great material problems with their hierarchy. They are not supported at all and even sometimes they are deliberately deprieved from some help (computers, cars, manpower,...).

well, isn't that a reason for criticism! they will never learn to do an investigation like it should be done, if i have any remarks onto the task force, that includes the people who should give them the necessary tools and funds to do their job as well! i also find it incredible that investigators have to buy their own computers and drive their own cars for what should be paid for by the justice department, but that doesn't mean i have to pat them on the head for the great job they've been doing. the point is that the investigation is really nowhere, what they've presented in the 2 tv-programs was completely the same information as we had back in april, when the bags were found. after 7 months one might expect that they would provide us with new information, or at least make a thorough round-up of all what they've done so far. it is VERY obvious we're dealing with a well-organised serial killer, who's been on the rampage for over a year already BEFORE the infamous bags have been found, if he's been undetected all this time, we shouldn't rely on a chance meeting to find him. i am very aware of the danger this type of offender represents, and i'm also 100% sure that he hasn't or won't stop killing unless he's caught or commits suicide. if the task force calls in the assistance of the public they should do it on a professional basis and not by a flimsy summing up of the facts we already know. i guess people will not be stimulated to take actions in this way.
i gave three lectures about this case and when confronted with this type of approach i have noticed that people REALLY start thinking about it, and start having their own ideas, and make certain connections which they didn't think were possible. if the profile proved to be right (which i'm not claiming by force), it would most plausible make some people in the offender's immediate vicinity think twice. i am also quite sure that some details of the case could be interpreted differently, and i would indeed welcome those ideas, but at least it seems to stir up the debate...

Don't you think this could be a much productive debate and action to take that struggle for them.... assuming that you want to help the police and want to see the offender caught of course!

there are several journalists on the mailing-list, i have given 3 public lectures about this case in belgium, there have been newspaper-articles about our profile in 2 major belgian newspapers, a person 2nd in rank to the minister of justice has asked for a printed copy of the text (because they didn't have an internet-connection!), so don't get the idea i go in hiding with this project. i started it in march, and gave the first lecture right away, in arnhem, holland, since then it has obviously grown and re-thought several times, but i haven't seen any real developments from the task-force during that time.
