I said I hated personification, I meant I don't want to engage in a kind of fan-mail to you or to anybody else, you say LUX INTERIOR is no hero, but of course in a way he is, too a lot of people who buy his records at least, and again this does not mean he is a hero to you or to me, I don't know him at all, and I don't have any of his records so. By the way did you know he was recently claimed dead by THE RAMONES?

Yeah Belgium is kind of strange with its 2 languages, you know the government just collapsed because of that? There is this french-speaking guy who is a maire in this politically flemish village and he refuses to speak flemish so he's illegal, and then they took away his rights and the town-council had to put another maire and they choosed the same person, and this happened at least 7 times and each time some official institution had to give his resignation and finally the government collapsed, so we now have to vote dec 13th and I wonder wether something's gonna change. We do live in Roman Catholic regions, the pope visited Antwerp last year. So I guess I am so as well, although we never go to church on sundays and stuff like that, or we don't pray before dinner Ha-Ha!

When you say you never claimed to be an artist, though I think you're wrong, when a person makes paintings, he is a painter, and painters are with sculptors, photographers, etchers and whatever artists. You cannot tell from somebody who makes fancy varieties of bread that he's not a baker. It would be as saying to somebody who's driving a car that he's not a driver. Maybe it's not your primary intention to make a piece of art, but I cannot say it's my primary intention either, I just have this idea to make something, and I make it, and since it's a 3-dimensional object, not to serve a specific meed or anything, it's a 'sculpture', and sculptures relate to the world of art, I mean it's not some consumer product. And that is the same with your paintings, you must at least have some inspiration to do them, even when you're killing time, you'd play a certain game, and there'd be certain rules, but there's no rules in art, nobody tells you what to paint, which colors to use or whatever, it's a total free thing that comes from your mind, and you only decide what it will look like, I guess that's quite close to some description of an artwork isn't it?

About cost of postage, I know for sure it is way more expensive over here than in America, there is an American person staying here for a long period, he sends out a lot of mail and he said it's much more expensive here. Airmail goes by weight, so for a letter to the US we pay a fixed amount of 24,- Bfr (the US-Dollar is now 35,- Bfr) and then 3,- Bfr per 5 grams, one sheet of this paper, for instance weighs about 13 grams, that means 9,- Bfr extra per page + the envelope. So for letters it's quite allright, but we usually have to mail loads of magazines or cassette-tapes, up to 1000 grams, so you can figure out it easily gets to 10 US-Dollars to mail for instance 10 magazines to some shop or so. The magazines cost us about 60,- Bfr per piece, and we fold and staple and cut them ourselves, we do all the design, lay-out and screening, so that's only for printing. You can tell we don't make too much money from that. Do you have a cassette-player?, I could send you some of our music. We haven't got a record yet, although we're on a few compilations, we're waiting for some company to pay for it all.
