The only thing I am responsible for is the oil painting list flyer as that is what I make up so that I don't have to type it up everytime someone ask about my paintings.
You have a strange way of saying things as you want to assume things I have done or presume I have control over things which I don't. Now maybe thats the way you would be doing it, but its not me. I paint to fill my time while awaiting my appeal and since people request them I sell them to off set my costs and my overhead while being in prison. But if you think I am getting rich off it your badly mistaken, because I spend nearly as much as I take in and it has nothing to do with my net worth prior to coming to prison. See I was succesful before coming to prison but I also have the gift to make money meaning I have good business sense. The art is an all new field for me,and I never done it before or knew that I could but I am sure since you have been in business long enough to know and I amsure you would that the media has provided me with the publicity and name to sell just about anything.
and I am sure if you were in my place you would take advantage of it too. so I don't think it has anything to do with my values or how I think, because if that were true my paintings would be selling for hundreds of dollars just because our sick society wants something from an infamous character made up by the news media.
See what you don't know is I can't accept money from lawsuits or profit from my crime as in this country there are laws against it. and don't think they don't watch everything I do. As it is they are trying to pass a law in this state whereby I would have to pay room and boa board, because I am one of the ten riches men in the Illinois prison system. But its not from the art work my no means.
The lawsuit against the last book about me is for $30 million dollars ( Buried Dreams) and I have already ear marked that ( $6.5 million) to be given to aiding the farmers of this country. And just recently I am filing a suit against the president elect George Bush and the Republican party, but I won't see a penny of that as it will be given to the Illinois coalition against the death penalty. so see I don't think you know me at all. Even in prison I am always sharing with the other guys who don't have nothing, not out of fear, but its just the way I am.
And your right there are many who are buying my painting just because of who they think I am and there are also others who have exploited me with their bragging, and selling my letters to me they are the lowest form. to trade off another human being caught up in the justice system. and I am sure you have your motive too in writing me and I believe you when you say your wanting a painting out of friendship, because I don't judge people, I let them do that for themselves Remember whatever you do the least of my brothers you do unto me. I don't beg or run cons on anyone who write me, yet I've been absue by many. so think about that when you get a chance send the photo or let me know what you want. meanwhile I hope your well and things going well for you. I had another stroke September first, but it was mild and I am doing well now. Meanwhile Happy Holidays we have Thanksgiving coming up in this country, then next month Christmas. say hi to the family, write when you have time. But please don't assume you know my thinking because your wrong.
